More than 4000 people participated in the Scout Jamboree, hosted by the Icelandic Scouts and Guides at Lake Úlfljótsvatn this weekend. 750 scouts from 20 countries participated in the the jamboree which started last Tuesday and lasts one week. Saturday was “visitors day” with a special program, including a campfire. The theme of the jamboree is “the earth’s energy” and the scouts worked on projects concerning the production of energy and its usage. Lake Úlfljótsvatn, located about 60 km from Reykjavík, is the national scout outdoor center.
