Icelandic musician Sturla Atlas has been chosen to warm up for Justin Bieber’s concerts in Iceland, scheduled for September 8 and 9 in Kórinn, Kópavogur. This was announced by Sena Live today. The concerts will be the largest ever held in Iceland. Several Icelandic musicians had been considered for the opening act, but in the end, the honor went to Sturla.
“I’m very excited about the concert,” Sturla stated. “First of all, Justin Bieber is one of my favorite musicians, and it’s a milestone in my career to warm up for the world’s largest pop star.”
In addition, a foreign musician will warm up for the concert, but that person’s name is yet to be announced.
The young Sturla Atlas caught attention in the spring of 2015 when his first album, Love Hurts, came out. Since then, his band has appeared at all major music festivals in Iceland. In March, Sturla Atlas was chosen Newcomer of the Year 2015 at the Icelandic Music Awards. His third album, SEASON2 was released in June.
