The competition for the strongest man in the world, IFSA Strongman, will be held in Iceland on 20-25 November.
This year’s competition is dedicated to the late Jón Páll Sigmarsson, who won the World Strongman Cup four times. Another Icelander, Magnús Ver Magnússon, has also won the World Strongman Cup four times, the last time being 10 years ago. Three Icelandic contestants participate this year, of a total of 24. Morgunbladid online reports.
This will be the second time the competition is held in Iceland, the first time being in 1992. Magnússon, who is responsible for organizing the competition in Iceland, says this year’s event will be substantially larger in scope than the last. The competition will be recorded for television and will be broadcast in 219 countries in 15 languages, reaching at least 350 million homes.
