The Icelandic Met Office has issued a strong gale warning for tonight and tomorrow. Tonight, winds will pick up from the southeast, becoming strong, especially in the northwest (18-23 meters/second), with heavy rain, but winds will turn southwesterly by noon tomorrow (20-25 meters/second) with severe weather (25-30 meters/second) possible in the Northwest headlands, with sleet, changing to snow showers. On Sunday, we’ll see warmer temperatures and southeasterly winds with heavy rain.
The Met Office advises people to keep a close eye on drains to make sure they’re not blocked.
