Today is the third day of strikes in Iceland. The Confederation of Labor has asked that ISK 300,000 (EUR 2,050, USD 2,300) be the minimum monthly salary in Iceland.
Daily dv.is pointed out yesterday that since January 1, 2009—a few months after the economic collapse in October 2008—the monthly salary of the Prime Minister of Iceland has increased by ISK 340,000 (USD 2,500, EUR 2,300), or 36 percent.
