Baby formula, syringes and needles for Landspítali University Hospital are stuck in customs because of the strike of SFR Union of Public Workers, RÚV reports.
There are examples of goods which cannot clear customs due to the strike. Although Landspítali is in dire need of syringes and needles, no exemption was made for those.
The strike affects operations at Mast, the Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority. Baby formula can’t clear customs because the person who issues health certificates at Mast is on strike.
