Strike Among Air Mechanics in Iceland Canceled

The union of air mechanics and Icelandair reached an agreement on wages this morning and so the strike which air mechanics began at midnight has been postponed, although the agreement has yet to be signed and a few items are still unclear.

Icelandair’s flights were postponed as a result of the strike but, according to Gudjón Arngrímsson, the information officer of Icelandair, there will be no further delays, visir.is reports.

Arngrímsson said it will take one to two hours to until the delayed airplanes will be airborne. Twenty Icelandair planes are scheduled to either leave or arrive to the country today.
