Stowaways Found in Siglufjörður

Three stowaways were discovered on board a Danish ship which came from Belgium to Siglufjörður, North Iceland, last Thursday, according to mbl.is.

They had been hiding in the ship’s cargo and were discovered by workers unloading the ship. One of them flew away, the others were caught and put in a box. Later, the local minister, Sigurður Ægisson, an ethnologist interested in natural history, took the stowaways to his office where he photographed them next to a ten-krona-coin. As soon as the minister turned around, the models flew away. Their whereabouts are unknown.

It’s time to mention that the stowaways-turned-models are small bats. Their nationality is unknown.
