Storm Warning Still in Place

By Iceland Review

A storm warning is still in place as rain, sleet and strong winds continue across parts of Iceland. Thunder and lightning—a rare occurrence in Iceland—were also recorded in the capital area and domestic flights schedules affected.

The forecast for West Iceland is for winds of 15 to 25 m/s and rain or snow showers. It will be mainly dry in the east. Tomorrow, the forecast is for rain in the south and southwest. The temperature is currently around 5°C (41°F) in the capital.

Yesterday, parts of Iceland saw unseasonably warm weather—up to 17.5°C in the southeast.
