The Icelandic Met Office has issued a storm warning for parts of Iceland today. Southwesterly wind of 15 to 23 m/s are forecast for later today, strongest in the south but decreasing there in the evening while increasing in the north.
Snowshowers are expected across the country with the exception of the northeast where it will be mainly dry. Strong wind of 18 to 23 m/s and sleet or rain by the evening is expected again tomorrow with snow in the northeast.
Roads in many parts of the country are slippery.
A storm raged across Southwest Iceland last night with gusts of 35 to 50 m/s at Kjalarnes and under Hafnarfjall mountain.
