Meteorologist Einar Magnús Einarsson told visir.is that the storm is not expected to calm until Monday evening. “And snowfall is forecast in the mountains, but rain or sleet in the lowlands.”
Einar recommended that loose objects be tied down. “Road conditions can become hazardous in mountain passes in the northeast.”
“September has arrived … and weather like this is to be expected at this time of year,” Einar concluded.
