The Icelandic Met Office has issued a warning for Southeast Iceland and the West Fjords. In addition to the heavy rain warning issued for the Southeast for this afternoon, the office now forecasts high winds from the north in excess of 20 m/s in the West Fjords and Breiðafjörður bay late tonight and high winds from the south for the eastern part of the country tomorrow morning. Extremely windy conditions are forecast in the Vatnajökull glacier region tomorrow morning.
