Storm Warning in Effect on Easter Sunday for Western Iceland

The Icelandic Met has issued a warning: Bad traveling weather is expected in the west part until evening.

This warning was prepared by the meteorologist on duty at 06:42 on Sunday morning.

The forecast for Sunday is:

Southwest 15 to 23 m/s in the west, but especially in the southwest at first. Rain, but later sleet by noon and snow in mountain area. Southwest 13 to 18 and mostly dry in the northeast. Decreasing wind in the south by evening. Southwest and west 13 to 20 in most parts in the south tonight and tomorrow, but lighter variable or westerly wind in other parts. Snow showers in the south and west, but mostly dry in other parts. Temperature 1 to 8 degrees C, warmest in the northeast and east.
