Garðabær football club Stjarnan became Icelandic champion in women’s football on Wednesday after beating Valur from Reykjavík 4-0 in a home game.
There are still four rounds left of the Icelandic Championship but Stjarnan has proven the strongest team throughout, currently leading with 14 points, which makes it unbeatable, Morgunblaðið reports.
After on Wednesday’s game Stjarnan celebrated the second Icelandic Championship title in the team’s history—they will receive the trophy at a later occasion.
