Stiff competition for director general position at Icelandic National Broadcasting Service

Twenty two applied for the director general position at Icelandic National Broadcasting Service. The deadline ran out at four PM yesterday. Twenty-one men applied for the position while three of the applicants were women. Thorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, minister of education, will appoint a new director general for a five year term on September 1. The outgoing director general, Markús Örn Antonsson, has been appointed Iceland’s ambassador to Canada starting November 1.
