Steven Fry Covers Iceland on Christmas QI

Iceland was included in the question and comedy show QI led by British actor Steven Fry over Christmas; the actors Brian Blessed and Alan Davis and comedians Sean Lock and Ross Noble answered various questions about the country and culture.

Among their tasks was to pronounce Eyjafjallajökull, guess what a nábrók is (an item on display at the Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft Museum) and explain why the Icelandic phonebook is organized differently than the British, reports.

Participants proved to know various things about Iceland but no one could pronounce Eyjafjallajökull.

The BBC has aired QI since 2003. Davis is the only permanent guest and Fry has been the show’s presenter from the start.

The show was created by director and producer John Lloyd who has produced many of the BBC’s most popular comedy series, including Spitting Image and Blackadder.
