Star weekend in south Iceland

Astronomer Snaevarr Gudmundsson will inform visitors at the farm Hali í Sudursveit in south Iceland about the stars and the universe at a special star weekend, February 24 and 25.

Gudmundsson will give a presentation on the main planets, and if the weather conditions permit, take a walk with visitors and point out the visible planets in the evening sky. He will also discuss the northern lights. Fréttabladid reports.

The star weekend also includes an introduction to the work of author Thórbergur Thórdarson, who was born at Hali í Sudursveit in 1889.

Food is included and on Saturday evening, Feburary 24, guests are invited for a gala dinner. Those who are interested in participating in the star weekend can email [email protected].
