The suspect who was arrested for the stabbing has been remanded to custody until August 26. The suspect will comply with the order according to a statement from the police authorities released to ruv.is.

He ran berserk in the Monte Carlo restaurant on Reykjavík’s main shopping street Laugavegur and was thrown out after a brawl with the deceased victim prior to the deadly assault on the eve of July 15, mbl.is reports.

“My staff was astounded when the suspect returned to the restaurant out of nowhere and managed to cut the victim’s neck artery. The security guard managed to knock out the suspect so that the staff could attend to the victim’s injuries,” restaurant owner Margeir Margeirsson told mbl.is.
