Two traffic observation cameras designed to take pictures of speeding motorists have caught more than 2,000 such motorists on camera since they were erected on the Ring Road by Hvalfjördur, west Iceland, in July.
Over 1,300 pictures thereof were taken in August, meaning each camera took one picture every hour on average, Morgunbladid reports.
According to police in Borgarnes, speeding has reduced considerably in the area where the cameras were established.
Six similar traffic observation cameras will be established on the Ring Road during the next few weeks and eight additional cameras next year.
