Spanish Clubs Interested in Icelandic Handball Player

By Iceland Review

Two Spanish handball clubs, Barcelona and San Antonio, are interested in recruiting Icelandic handball player Logi Geirsson, who won the Olympic silver with the Icelandic national team in Beijing last August, before the next season begins.

Geirsson currently plays for Lemgo in Germany and has one and a half year left of his contract, Fréttabladid reports.

“It would be very exciting but I’m tied up by an agreement with Lemgo so it is not in my hands whether I go to Spain or not,” Geirsson said.

However, it doesn’t appear as if Lemgo’s manager Markus Baur is going to include Geirsson in his future composition of a team, so it is not considered unlikely that the club will transfer Geirsson to Spain for the right price.
