South Iceland Police Search for Missing Prisoner

The Police in Selfoss, south Iceland, are looking for Gudbjarni Traustason, a prisoner from Iceland’s maximum security prison, Litla Hraun, who didn’t return to the prison after a daytime detention leave on Saturday.

It is believed that Traustason is somewhere in the capital region, but police have been unable to locate him despite an extensive search, visir.is reports.

Traustason, who was convicted for his participation in the so-called Polar Star drug smuggling case, is not believed to be dangerous.
