The 11th annual Night of Lights festival begins today in Reykjanesbaer municipality in southwest Iceland. Tomorrow and Saturday night, many of the country’s best bands will play in Reykjanesbaer and on Sunday local choirs will entertain guests.

Tomorrow, free meat soup will be offered and throughout the weekend approximately 300 visual artists will display their work around the municipality. Exhibitions will open at the Reykjanesbaer Art Museum and at the Sudsudvestur Gallery, Morgunbladid reports.
Many items on the program are intended for children, such as children’s entertainment on the large stage on Saturday, an orienteering game, experiments, bouncing castles and boxes for climbing.
The highlight of the festival is a fireworks show.
