South Iceland Holds Food and Culture Festival

Municipalities in south Iceland are organizing a “Museum Weekend” for the first time during the upcoming weekend, which focuses on local food traditions and culture. Museums in the region will offer free admission for all visitors.

“South Icelanders involved in the museum, art and restaurant business have opened their doors, a sort of hospitality south Icelanders are famous for,” the festival’s organizer, Gísli Sverrir Árnason, told Fréttabladid.

According to Árnason, the region’s restaurants will offer special discounts on their menus.

“The program is diverse and there are plenty of activities for the entire family. They will have a difficult time choosing what to do because there are so many tempting events on the program,” Árnason stated.
