Michael Imperioli, who plays Tony Soprano’s brother, Christopher Moltisanti, in the US TV series The Sopranos, is to star in the Icelandic movie Stóra planid (“The Big Plan”).
Imperioli, who has received two Emmys for his role in The Sopranos, will play the criminal leader Alexander in Stóra planid. The film is directed by Ólafur Jóhannesson and will be shot in April and May. Fréttabladid reports.
“Everything is ready, we have reached an agreement with him [Imperioli],” Jóhannesson said. “This is not a trick to sell more tickets, but a career move for me.”
Jóhannesson said he is looking forward to working with Imperioli, and said although Imperioli is tired of playing a criminal, he was excited about this role.
