The quarantine centre in a Reykjavík location of Íslandshótel is now closed, reports. The last occupants were discharged last Wednesday.

The Icelandic government rented the hotel at the end of February. For the first two to three weeks, it was used to house foreign tourists who needed to be placed under quarantine. After that, it was used as a place for locals who had been diagnosed with the virus to stay while they were recovering.

All total, about 50 people resided in the hotel, most of whom were Icelanders. Forty volunteers from the Red Cross oversaw the management of the facility while it was being used as a quarantine facility.
