Sobering Bus Ride Ends in Arrest

Passengers of a bus driving from Keflavík International Airport to Reykjavík around 1 am last night had a sobering experience. It all began when a passenger called police to report that the bus driver was under the influence, mbl.is reports.

Shortly thereafter, police received a second call, this time from another passenger, saying the bus driver was under attack. At that point the bus had arrived in Garðabær, a town close to Reykjavík.

The attacker turned out to be the passenger who first alerted police. He had assailed the bus driver, whom he accused of being drunk, and grabbed the wheel. Police intervened and arrested the assailant, who turned out to be considerably drunk. A breath test given to the driver, on the other hand, revealed no trace of alcohol at all. The passenger, thus, seems to have severely miscalculated when he deemed the driver drunk.
