Two snowmobile drivers fell into a ravine east of Mt. Sandfell in the region of Öxarfjördur fjord in northeast Iceland on Sunday afternoon. They were traveling in a group of other snowmobilers.
One of the men lost consciousness briefly. The coast Guard helicopter TF Gná was called to the scene and brought the injured men to the hospital in Akureyri, Fréttabladid reports.
According to the police in Húsavík the two men are not considered seriously injured. Their snowmobiles were in drivable condition so members of their travel group brought them back to town.
