Snow Sculptures in Reykjavík Botanic Garden

Finnish environmental artist Timo Jokela is preparing snow sculptures in the Reykjavík Botanic Garden as part of the Winter Lights Festival to run in the capital from February 7-10.

The sculptures will go on display from Friday evening, when the public can also observe Jokela at work, ruv.is reports.

As there is little snow in the capital, snow will be transported from Bláfjöll ski resort today so work can begin tomorrow.

Jokela, who uses natural materials such as snow, ice, and wood in his work, is a professor of Art Education at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi, Finland.
