Snæfell and Slovenia Yesterday’s Winners

Slovenia won against Iceland 5-2 (1-1, 1-0, 3-1) at the 2014 Women’s Ice Hockey World Championships Division II Group B in Laugardalur Arena in Reykjavík on Tuesday night. In the same group Belgium won against Turkey 2-1 (0-0, 0-0, 1-1, 1-0) and Spain lost to Croatia 5-7 (2-2, 1-3, 2-2). Croatia is the only team to have won both of their matches.

In women’s basketball news, Snæfell from Stykkishólmur on Snæfellsnes peninsula won against Valur from Reykjavík 72:66 in a dramatic playoff at home. The win means that Snæfell will for the first time play for the big title. Snæfell will play Haukar from Hafnarfjörður. The winner needs to win five games.
