“This unexpected gig was promotion for Iceland worth a million dollars,” commented Frosti Logason, one of the two presenters of the program Harmageddon on the rock radio station X-id 977 of their performance.

Smith joined two of Crowe’s three concerts with Alan Doyle during Culture Night, in the yard of Bar 11 and then later at Kex Hostel. The duo performed one of Smith’s best-known numbers, Bruce Springsteen’s “Because the Night”.

According to Morgunblaðið’s sources, Smith will perform the title song of Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, in which Crowe stars, and for which scenes have been filmed in Iceland in the past weeks.
