Small Plane Crashes in Reykjanes

A small plane, used for instruction, went down in Reykjanes, Southwest Iceland, around 3:30 pm today, according to Vísir.

The plane lost radar contact and, subsequently, sent out an emergency signal. Two men were on board. According to, the plane crashed in a lava field, 3-4 kilometers from the Krísuvík Road, by the Bláfjöll Road exit. calls the situation serious.

Police, fire fighters, rescue teams and the Icelandic Coast Guard all participated in the search for the plane.

No information has been provided regarding the men on board.
