SLN the Gray Goose is Back!

The gray goose, known by her initials SLN, which has something of a national celebrity, has returned to her home in Blönduós for at least the twelfth time, reports.

In the summer of 2000, this goose, along with 120 other geese, was banded by the county office. It has since been the only one from the flock, apart from a goose tagged AVP, to return from wintering in Scotland. Remarkably, SLN is always found on the lawn in front of the local senior citizens’ residence.

It is clear that with SLN’s arrival, a heavy load has been lifted off many locals; they have enjoyed watching her during the summer and until fall, when she flies back with her goslings and gander back to Scotland.
