Other performers are the young and talented Retro Stefson and old-schoolers Dr. Gunni and Rass. The bands Grjóthrun í Hólshreppi and Black Sheep will also participate in the festival, according to a press release posted on

Events will take place in the Dalir region throughout the weekend, such as a ram exhibition, a rhymester evening, sheep head feast, football tournament and the Icelandic Championship in sheep shearing.

Gudrúnarlaug, a pool named after the Laxdaela saga protagonist and located in the same spot as the ancient pool mentioned in the saga, will open at the occasion.

The festival begins at 8 pm on Friday in the local horse center. Admission is free.
