Skiing Course Canceled due to Lack of Snow

By Iceland Review

A cross-country skiing course which was to be held in Ísafjörður, the West Fjords, next weekend has been canceled due to a lack of snow. There isn’t even any snow on the mountain tops, local news website bb.is reports.

Bb.is has instead been focusing on summer sports. The paper spoke with four golfers who have been playing golf at the Tungudalur golf course in Ísafjörður every day this month.

Finnur Magnússon, one of the golfers, told bb.is that many others have been golfing. “The course is in its summer costume. There were a lot of people playing over the weekend, both on Saturday and Sunday, this is just like a good summer day.”

According to yr.no’s long-term weather forecast, winter will arrive in the town on December 1 with cooler temperatures and snowfall .
