Icelandic author and poet Sjón has received the Nordic Literature award for his novel Skugga- Baldur.
“I am very happy and honoured to receive the award because I’m in now in the fellowship of those talented people who have previously received this award. Hopefully I will reach more readers in this way,” he told reporters at a reception.
The novel is about a girl with Down’s syndrome in the nineteenth century.
