Sixth Annual West Fjords Music Festival a Success

By Iceland Review

The sixth annual Aldrei fór ég sudur music festival, which was held in Ísafjördur in the West Fjords during Easter, has never been more successful. More people attended the festival than in previous years and organizers are thrilled.

“The audience deserves gratitude. They showed the musicians great respect, everyone was given a chance and each performance was enjoyed and celebrated. The atmosphere was fantastic,” one of the organizers, Kristján Freyr Halldórsson, told Morgunbladid.

More than 30 bands performed in two evenings and each band was given 25 minutes of stage time. “It worked like a well-oiled machine,” Halldórsson described. All of the bands were complimented on their performances, especially FM Belfast.
