Six Child Deaths due to Violence in Last Decade

Six children under the age of ten have died in Iceland due to violence or ill treatment in the last decade.

Director of the Child Protection Agency Bragi Guðbrandsson told weekly Fréttatíminn that such statistics are not kept in a systematic way and have never been published.

Drug use and mental disorders are usually associated with such deaths, according to the report.
