Last Sunday, six preschool-aged boys were transported to Suðurnes Hospital and Health Center, Southwest Iceland, after being stuck with blood-covered needles, RÚV reports. They discovered the needles in a house which was under construction in Njarðvík and used them for fighting. The incident was reported by their parents.
The builder of the house has been contacted to ensure that the house can no longer be entered. Police report that shutters over windows and doors had been broken.
Óskar Halldórsson, from the Suðurnes Police, stated that this is the first case of its kind at the police department. It’s neither known what kind of substance the needles contained, nor whether the boys were harmed by their contact with them. Results are being awaited from tests being done at the hospital.
