Sir David Attenborough Coming to Iceland

British broadcaster, author and naturalist Sir David Attenborough is coming to Iceland next fall to give a presentation about his latest book to be published in Icelandic, Life in Cold Blood, which features reptiles.

Attenborough last held an open presentation in Iceland in 2003 in the conference hall Salurinn in Kópavogur, a Reykjavík suburb, which was so popular that there wasn’t enough room for everyone, Morgunbladid reports.

Sigurdur Svavarsson, one of the owners of Opna Publishing, which will publish Life in Cold Blood in Icelandic, said a larger venue will be required for Attenborough’s presentation next fall.

According to Svavarsson, Attenborough was satisfied with his last visit to Iceland. Attenborough, who is 82, received an honorary doctorate from the University of Iceland in June 2006.
