Icelandic pop culture phenom Silvía Night, a character played by actress Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir, signed a three record deal with Reykjavík Records while onboard the whale watching ship Elding on Saturday.
The record deal, worth ISK 30 million (EUR 339,000, USD 439,000), is reportedly the biggest in Iceland’s history. Silvía Night’s first album is expected to be released in late March or early April, as reported in all the main media.
Reykjavík Records is planning a Silvía Night invasion into foreign markets, who will be the “fattest golden calf in Iceland’s publishing history,” according to Reykjavík Records.
