Shooting for the Icelandic feature film Kóngavegur 7, directed by Valdís Óskarsdóttir, finished last week after 23 days in the capital region. The film takes place in a trailer park and tells the story of Júníor, who returns to Iceland after three years of living abroad.

Júníor brings a lot of problems with him, which he hopes that his father can solve, but the homecoming is not exactly what he expected.
The main characters are played by the elite of Icelandic actors: Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Nanna Kristín Magnúsdóttir, Ólafur Egilsson, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson, Nína Dögg Filippusdóttir, Gísli Örn Gardarsson, Kristbjörg Kjeld, Sigurdur Sigurjónsson, Ingvar E. Sigurdsson, and Einar Jóhann Valsson, also German actor Daniel Brühl of Inglourious Basterds fame.

Kóngavegur 7 is Óskarsdóttir’s second project as a director, her directing debut being Country Wedding (2008). Internationally, she is better known as a film editor, having received a BAFTA for her editing in the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004).
Kóngavegur 7 is scheduled to premiere next year.
