Young Icelandic hardcore rock band Shogun won the 25th annual competition Músíktilraunir (“Musical Experiments”) in Reykjavík on Saturday.
The band 3 Svanhvít! landed in the second place and Gordon Riots in the third. Eleven bands participated in the Músíktilraunir finals on Saturday, Fréttabladid reports.
Last year’s winner, Foreign Monkeys, played a few songs at the beginning of the competition.
Músíktilraunir has proven a platform for young up and coming bands in Iceland and most artists on the Icelandic music scene today have been involved in the competition at some point.
