Dozens of search and rescue volunteers searched for a shepherd who had gotten lost in Fnjóskadalur valley in North Iceland last night, RÚV reports. The man was found shortly after midnight according to a police inspector with the North-East Iceland police.
The search began around 9 pm. It took a while to locate the shepherd. He could be reached by phone, but the area was covered by a heavy fog, which made it difficult to navigate the rocky landscape. The way up to the man’s location was steep and rocky. He was finally found shortly after midnight and aided down by rescue team members.
