According to the police in Sauðárkrókur, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which was carrying a full load, at a bend on its way to the slaughterhouse.
The vehicle was carrying more than 200 sheep, mbl.is reports.
Farmers in the area helped to round up the surviving sheep after the accident.
