Severe Weather Warning

By Iceland Review

The Icelandic Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for Northwest Iceland tonight and a strong gale warning for the south and southwest late this afternoon.

Southeasterly winds of 13-20 meters per second are expected with rain, especially in the south and west. Tonight, there will be southerly winds of 23-30 meters per second, windiest in the north and west. Rising temperatures, reaching 5-10º C (41-50º F) this afternoon, will result in rapid melting of snow, swelling rivers, and the possibility of mudslides.

Windy tomorrow morning, but gradually decreasing winds.
