Series of Staged Readings in Reykjavík

“Salon”, a new series of staged readings in Icelandic and English, will take place in the theater Tjarnarbíó in central Reykjavík in November and December, starting today with the play “Knives in Hens” by David Harrower.

From the National Theatre of Scotland’s staging of the play.

“Knives in Hens” is the Glasgow-based playwright’s first work. It was staged by the professional Traverse Theatre Edinburgh and Bush Theatre in London in 1995 and since then in various theaters across Europe, recently by the National Theatre of Scotland, a press release states.

The staged reading begins in Tjarnarbíó at 8:30. The play will be read in English by Álfrún Örnólfsdóttir and other Icelandic actors.

The next staged reading in English will be “Strawberries in January” by Evelyne de la Cheneliere in a version by Rona Munro on November 28.
