Series of Earthquakes in Thórisjökull Glacier

A series of earthquakes began between 4 and 5 am in Thórisjökull glacier last night. Most of the earthquakes were small but the largest measured 3.5 on the Richter scale.

The largest earthquake could be felt in Reykjavik, but earthquakes are common in Thórisjökull area according to The Icelandic Metrological Office.

The last big earthquakes series in Thórisjökull was 1999 when over 330 earthquakes could were measured.
