A series of minor earthquakes, the largest of which was of a magnitude of 4.1, hit 26 kilometers north-northeast of Siglufjörður just before 9:30 this morning. The quakes were felt in the area.

Seismologist at the Iceland Meteorological Office Martin Hensch said the quakes do not pose any danger and are a continuation of the seismic activity that has hit the area in recent days, ruv.is reports.
An earthquake of a magnitude 4.3 hit 25 kilometers off Siglufjörður at 8:00 am yesterday morning and another half an hour later.
