Sequences Real Time Art Festival Coming Up

The real time art festival Sequences VII, will take place in Reykjavík April 10-19. An international biennale, the festival specializes in performances, audio and video art. This year, 26 artists, Icelandic and foreign, will participate.

Participating artists include Finnbogi Pétursson, Hekla Dögg Jónsdóttir, Ragnar Helgi Ólafsson, Styrmir Örn Guðmundsson and Helgi Þórsson. Events will take place at many unconventional places across the city, including a former public bathroom.

The program includes the screening of a documentary about Carolee Schneemann, the 2015 festival’s guest of honor.

Alongside the official festival program, there will an off-venue program with more than 20 different events, including online exhibitions and an evening of art performances.

Most events are free and open for all.
