Sea Monster Spotted in South Iceland Village

People on an evening walk in Eyrarbakki, South Iceland, on Thursday spotted a black creature suddenly appear from the beach. It ran towards the shocked bystanders before turning away towards the beach, disappearing into the dark, vísir.is reports.

It seemed to be a kind of sea monster referred to as fjörulalli.

After the initial shock they realized that it was in fact a black Labrador. Since it was wearing a reflective harness, seen on, for example, dogs for the blind, they informed the police. Their investigation revealed that the dog had simply sneaked out from its home and back again without the owner even noticing.

In light of that, the request for the assistance of the local search and rescue team was cancelled.
